Not at all – so long as you’re careful and get your optometrist to show you the best way to put them in and take them out.

Leaving them in for long periods isn’t a good idea as proteins from our tears as well as dirt and dust can accumulate under the lenses and damage the surface of your eye. As long as you’re happy with the procedure for putting them in and taking them out, and you keep them scrupulously clean (is they’re not disposable) then you should be fine!

      Hi @laura!!!

Actually, I wear contact lenses myself!!! I don’t think that putting them in your eyes is bad… you just always have to make sure that they are clean (by using a good solution to clean them in), and it isn’t good to leave them in overnight because they dry out your eyes. But I basically live with contacts in, because my vision is very bad. But as long as you don’t scratch your eyes and you clean your contacts, they should be fine on your eyes!

I agree with SJ and Paige, it definitely isn’t bad, as long as you take care and follow the guidance given. If you don’t there are some really nasty infections which can grow, but as long as you keep them clean and handle with clean hands, you’ll be fine.

The only thing I’m squeemish with is my eyes, so I won’t be putting any in my eyes

I would guess not, but I have no experience with them
