• Question: Are humans naturally attractd to the colour turquoise?

      I don’t know about naturally, but I sure am attracted to the color turquoise or purple! (that is probably because my college’s colors are purple and gold!)

      I don’t believe this is a theory that has been tested. However, it would stand to reason that many would be attracted to it as it suggests peacefulness and serenity

      I’m not sure about turquise, but there have been quite a few studies and trials conducted to look at the way that colour can be used to alter emotional states and change perceptions.
      For example, there’s this colour called ‘Drunk Tank Pink’ which as investigated regarding it’s ability to calm down prisoners in jails!

      In reality, some of the experiments were a bit bodged and could have been better, more refined and more controlled, and eventually I think the results were disproven, however colour as a modifier of emotional state is a really interesting concept!

      Maybe we gravitate towards colours that make us feel a certain way without realising, I’m quite fond of pale turquoise myself – my hair was that colour for the longest time!
