As a meat eating, leather wearing, animal serum using scientist it would be hypocritical for me to say I don’t believe that animals are as high up on the importance ladder as humans are. That said I wouldnt ever condone cruelty or the mistreatment towards an animal. I would needlessly kill an animal, however I see no problem in raising livestock for meat or serum.

Does that include bugs? I must admit I have slaughtered legions of slugs that were feasting upon my cabbages and carrots my veggie patch.

I think that while we can consider humans to be ethically above animals (for example, saving human life above saving animal life), I think that it is very dangerous to consider that we are above all other living creatures. These creatures deserve good habitats and a clean Earth just as much as we do! So no, I don’t think humans should go around thinking that we are at the top, but rather consider that a harmony with nature and other creatures is VERY important to maintaining ecosystems and a balanced life on planet Earth.
