• Question: do you smoke?

      No way! I also have asthma, so it would be very bad for me to smoke. And it can raise your chances of lung cancer.

      Unfortunately I do, but I’ll tell you what, if I could change one thing in my life it would have been never to have started smoking. I’ve given up a couple of times but it’s hard and both times have started again. Smoking is the most dangerous and stupid thing I do. I cough a lot, get out of breath far more easily than I should and as a scientist am painfully aware of what it can do to you. My uncle died of lung cancer as a result of smoking and so did my friend’s brother – and he was only a few years older than me!

      My advice – don’t smoke, not even one because it’s really just not worth it.

      I don’t smoke no. Lots of my older family have lung problems from working in the mines and smoking, there’s no point in me taking up a habit that may well make me seriously ill.

      I don’t. I have tried it, but luckily I’ve never got addicted
