• Question: does it smell in your lab or is the smell delt with?

      Unfortunately it does smell. It is the first thing visitors to a microbiology lab often notice. I can honestly say though you do get used to it. It is rare to notice “that” smell when working there on a daily basis.

      In the summer, particularly if cultures have been left out over a weekend, it can smell a little worse and you tend to notice it then. Some of the samples smell nasty too, so when they are opened you can’t really miss it. Personally it’s the smelly urines I don’t like.
