Question: dose your job effect your life?

I would have to say no. Many of my colleagues would probably disagree with me. I have to work weekends and sometimes I have to work until 8pm in the week. Most jobs are no longer Mon to Fri 9-5 though, so I just see this as part of working and I plan around it as we know what hours we are working in advance. I do oncall to, where I have to go in during the night if there are urgent samples to process. Lots of people won’t do anything when they are oncall but I don’t like to let it rule my life, so I will still go out, I just make sure I have my mobile and don’t venture too far. Other than that the work in general, and working the extras lets me buy nice things and makes me appreciate my free time.
