Are we talking about humans? hmm… ethically, my answer is no… but when someone is in extreme pain and they want to be relieved of that pain, your feelings go out to what they want, do they not?
Currently euthanasia is illegal in the the UK and I understand and agree that it would be incredibly difficult to legalise due to the possible abuse of such a law. Until such a time that there is more education and guidance regarding the situations in which euthanasia would be allow I feel that it should remain illegal.
HOWEVER
Having seen my family members suffer quite horribly with terminal diseases, I personally am comfortable with the concept of euthanasia
IF and ONLY IF
1) The person is terminally ill.
2) The person in question is unable to physically carry out their own wishes to die
3) If the persons wishes are EXPLICIT and CLEAR and VERIFIED.
