You mean the drink coca cola?

Well, I personally try not to drink these sweet sodas, because they contain high amounts of high fructose corn syrup. Unlike sugar, this sweeter that is derived from corn leave your body unaware that it is consuming lots of sugar! So your brain tells you that you need more sugar. This is dangerous because too much sugar can cause diseases like diabetes.

If you like coca cola, you should check out a local organic store around you, and somethings they have root beer or other sodas made out of ‘pure cane sugar’ or ‘natural sugar’. At least these drinks will let your brain know that it is consuming sugar!! I will drink those drinks that have natural sugars in them, but I try to stay away from high fructose corn syrup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-fructose_corn_syrup

Coca cola isn’t dangerous in the way that a glass or two a day will kill you, but it’s certainly not a good thing to be drinking all day everyday.

It’s incredibly acidic, meaning it reacts with the calcium in your teeth, eating it away and eventually making teeth spongy andprone to infection

The original Coke (not the diet or zero stuff) has a HUGE amount of sugar in, which, if you have it all the time, wears out your bodys ability to process sugar, in turn meaning you could develope Diabetes. This happens because when you eat sugary or starchy stuff, you body recognises it and releases a chamical called insulin, which triggers the packing away of the sugar you ate into storage (like as fat or as glycogen if it’s stored in muscles or liver). Over time, and with lots of sugar intake you body gets lazy and starts to ignore the insulin signal, and doesn’t bother packing up the sugar so it floats about in your bloodstream causing headaches and sickness, then if it’s bad enough, your blood can become acidic. Not Good!! To cope, the insulin signal is made bigger so the body will do as it should. Eventually you become completely insensitive, and have to control your diet really carefully with barely any sugars at all as you can’t process them.

So yeah, Coke is fine, but not loads all the time!

Did you know the Police in America sometimes use it to clean blood off the roads? it’s acidity and fizziness make it better than detergent!

Spot on answers from Paige and SJ for this one. Like with most things, moderation is the key.

Following from SJ’s point about the police using it, have you ever tried leaving a dirty old 2p in a bit of coca cola. It cleans it really well.

Did you know when it first came out it actually contained a small amount of cocaine. So, I guess it’s not as bad for you as it used to be.
