I have a friend who is a nurse, and she says that she can no longer watch Scrubs or Gray’s Anatomy. These shows probably show nuggets of real medical conditions, but the treatments and other scientific aspects of the shows are not realistic. At least Scrubs is meant to be a comedy show (I love that show), so it doesn’t tend to show medical conditions in a true scientific light. However, I have a serious problem with Gray’s Anatomy, because that show is a medical drama that some people do take seriously, and it is not scientifically accurate or realistic. Remember, it is still TV!

In general no. Aspects of it are accurate and most of it is based around truth, but largely it is dramatised significantly for effect. But it is funny.

Scrubs is well researched, and I’m a big Zach Braff fan but Gem and Paige are right about the over dramatisation. It would be dull TV without it though!!

IMO, House is one of the most well researched and informationally accurate shows, I’ve never seen actors so accurately act out an intubation (tube down the troat for breathing) howeve I’m not sure that Gregory House is an accurate representation of a diagnostician! 😀
