It’s desperate to have 5 atom friends bind however because of it’s valency, as soon as the 5th atom does come along to hang out nitrogen gets all unstable. Poor thing.
I also feel for lithium, who’s supposed to be all hard and strong and metal, but he’s a bit too light to be down with the other metals (lithium’s the only metal that floats) so I feel like he might get picked on.
But radioactive iodine is very scary… it gets taken up by the thyroid glands. When you see people dressed in hazard suits for radiation with masks on their faces, these masks basically act against radioactive iodine and other radioactive elements that can be breathed in through the air. The masks do nothing against other sources of radiation that penetrate through the body.
Iodine is a secret double agent because potassium iodide is selectively taken up by the thyroid in preference to radioactive iodine and can protect against radiation induced thyroid cancers! In an emergency situation of course 😉
